Creo is a suit of design software’sdeveloped by PTC which support Product design for different manufacturers.Creo provides apps for 3D CAD parametric feature solid modeling, 2D orthographic views, 3D direct modeling, Finite element analysis and simulation, technical illustrations schematic design, and viewing and visualization.

The Creo suite of apps replace and supersede PTC’s products formerly known as Pro/ENGINEER, CoCreate, and Product View.

PTC Creo Parametric, formerly known as Pro/ENGINEER, is a 3D CAD/CAE/CAM feature based & associative solid modeling software. Creo Parametric provide 2D orthographic views, solid modeling, assembly modelling, finite element analysis, direct and parametric modelling, sub-divisional and NURBS surfacing, and NC and tooling functionality for mechanical designers & Engineers. Creo Parametric compete with NX/Solid Edge, Solidworks, CATIA.

Creo Parametricis a powerful program used to create complex designs with great accuracy. The design intent of any three dimensional (3D) model or an assembly is defined by its specification and its use.

To make the designing process simple and quick, this software has seprated the steps of designing into different modules. This means each step of the designing is completed in a different module.

For example, generally a process consists of the following steps:

  1. Sketching using the basic sketch entities.
  2. Converting the sketch into features and parts.
  3. Assembling different parts and analyzing them.
  4. Documenting parts and the assembly in term of drawing views.
  5. Manufacturing the final part and assembly.


2D Profile of any part or object is made from the rough sketches or drawings.

Part Modeling

Part modeling is used to generate 3d part with the help of various part modeling command like Extrude, Revolve, Sweep, Blend, Swept Blend etc. The part can be generated with either Solid, Surface or Sheet metal.



Sheet metal


A design consisting of two or more components bonded together at their respective working positions using the assembly constraints is called Assembly.

Several constraints are used in Assemblies like Coincident, parallel, Concentric, Offset etc.


Creo has many analysis tools available that covers static,thermal,dynamic and fatigue finite element analysis along with other tools all designed to help with the development of the product. These analysis tools include human factors, mould flow, manufacturing tolerance and design optimization.


Creo provide set of tools in manufacturing environment for tool design and CNC machining simulation specially molding, die-casting and progressive tooling design.


After generating 3D model and Assemblies we can generate their Drawings directly in the Drawing Module. We can set the drawing sheet according to our need with different views, visual styles and scale.
